In-Office Diagnostic Procedures

Diagnostic Injections

In some cases, identifying the exact source of pain can be challenging. Diagnostic injections are a valuable tool used to confirm a diagnosis.

A small amount of local anesthetic is injected into a specific joint or structure:

  • If pain improves → the source of pain is confirmed
  • If pain does not improve → other causes are considered

These injections are often performed using ultrasound guidance for maximum accuracy and safety.

Specialized Testing

EMG / Nerve Conduction Studies

When symptoms involve nerves-such as numbness, tingling, or weakness-electrodiagnostic testing may be recommended.

These tests help evaluate:

  • Nerve function

Laboratory Testing
